Immediately following the ceremony, we welcomed our guests into our home for an informal reception buffet.

We were planning for about 25-30 guests, so we had to setup the apartment with as many seats as possible.

Olga helps us set out the snacks.

The guests start arriving. Our neighbor Patrick took lots of photos and shared them with us. Many of the following candid photos were taken by Patrick, THANKS PATRICK!!!!!!!!!!

The day could not have been more wonderful with a cool spring breeze in the air and not a cloud in the sky. This is another photo by Patrick of our perfect day.

Ron made 4 quiches, two Quiche Lorraines and two Shrimp Quiches. We were a little flustered on the best way to serve them so Guillermo took over and helped Ron cut and serve the slices to make it easier for our guests. THANKS GUILLERMO!!!!!!!!!!

To go along with the quiches, we had on the table a spicy corn salsa salad, pesto curly pasta and cold bean salad.

We stashed the cats in the bedroom so we wouldn't have to worry about them getting into any of the food, we also brought the flowers into the house to enjoy, the cats LOVE to eat flowers, so when the guests are gone the flowers go back out on the balcony, out of reach of paw and fang.

After lunch, Fabian helped us fill the champagne glasses and then it was time to cut the cake!

Ron is Mickey Mouse, Pete is the Pink Panther! The cake inscription says "Felicidades! R P" "Congratulations (with our initials) R P”. It does NOT say RIP, jajajajaja!

I asked Chris if she thought we were cutting the pieces too big, she assured us, "No, they're not too big for me!"

We make a cheers to our good fortune and for our fantastic friends, I don't know how life could be any better!

When we exchanged rings at the ceremony I told Ron we had 52 years to go, I didn't have anything prepared to say and I just blurted this out because it's something I tell Ron all the time. Chris later asked me what that meant, and I thought, "Yeah, that was pretty stupid to use a reference no one would understand but us." During the champagne toast, after I thanked our friends for joining us on this wonderful day, and for all their support and love I told them what "52 years more to go" meant.
When Ron and I first met Ron would take me on bicycling trips. I found that it didn't matter if you bicycled 5 miles, or 10 miles or 20 miles or 50 miles, mentally you pace yourself for the distance you have to go and when the ride is 1/2 over, you feel 1/2 tired, when it's 3/4 of the way over you feel 3/4 of the way tired and when you know it's about to be over, you're ready for it to be over. Ron and I have a plan that he will live to be 125, and every time he moans about an ache or a pain, I tell him, "Pace yourself, you have 52 years to go, I'm not doing this alone." If you pace yourself because you know how much distance to have to go, you'll do it! So that's our plan and we're sticking to it!

Gustavo and Luis The guests start to leave, I think everything turned out pretty great!

There's still some cake left for our coffee in the morning, OH BOY OH BOY OH BOY!!!!!! The filling was with berries from the forest, really nice!

After everyone had gone, we let the cats out of the bedroom and started cleaning up. The cats were EXHAUSTED from their stressful day and decided to take a nap while we cleaned up. "Hey, can you guys keep it down in there, can't you see we're trying to sleep??"

We are so grateful for our friends and family, and all their loving support! Our lives are gifted and enriched by your love!
Happy life to everyone! We're the luckiest guys on Earth!
Lotsa Love,
P.S. 52 years to go!
