Day Thirteen ~
(Continued)

The Clipper Ship is still anchored off shore from us. The sun is explosive with color.
So far we have not been to town, so tonight I had a real craving for a delicious hamburger at Iguana Joe's. We showered, and caught a bus into town. Unfortunately, this being off season, and with no cruise ships in port, Iguana Joe's was closed up tighter than a drum. We walked down a couple of doors, and found a place open that still had balcony seating overlooking the main street.

We ordered a couple of tropical cocktails . . .

. . . and a couple of hamburgers, and we were happy campers.
Day Thirteen ~ This would prove to be our last day of sunning and reading on the beach. Last night there was a huge rain storm. But I'm getting ahead of myself.

It was another beautiful sunny day in paradise. A Thursday, and we were to fly home on Saturday.

Have you ever seen the bar tender make a special drink for someone, and it looked so good that you just had to try one? This was one of those!

Back on the each for one more sunset. I love it that we nearly always have the beach to ourselves.

On the way to dinner this night, we saw the results of the heavy rain storm the night before.

This was the beach in front of the Riu Palace. There wasn't much sunning there today.

Tonight we decided to go back to Fishes And More, and began with a martini.
Day Fourteen ~ When we got up this morning it was raining, so not a good day for the beach. Instead, we decided to go to the sales office and look into an upgrade. We were really enjoying the unit in the new construction. Last year we looked into upgrading, but we were then required to purchase a week outright. That was a little extreme, so we declined.
This year, possibly due to the economic downturn, they were not requiring us to purchase a new week, but were accepting our current units equity in trade for the upgrade. That made a lot more sense to us, so we sat through all the paperwork, and gave the sales person our credit card for the down payment.

We can hardly wait until next year when we can use our new unit.
Written into our contract is the option to use 15 weeks from the back end of the 40 year contract, thus allowing us to have 2 weeks for the next 15 years without having to use points from our other RCI Points timeshare in Orlando, which we have been doing until now.

So here we are, drinks in hand, to watch our last Aruban sunset in 2010.
We were given a $100 gift certificate at the restaurant of our choice. We chose the Pure Beach restaurant. At the time we did not know that Friday night would be karaoke night. Fortunately it did not last through the entire meal.

This is another couple we met during our second week. They were enjoying martinis.

She liked to talk with her hands a lot, and she was feeling the martini. I don't think it was their first. I kept waiting for her to slosh it into the sand. LOL

And here is our last sunset for 2010. But we will be back next year.
I must apologize that there was so much repetition in these chapters. If it gets too boring, there is always the delete key. Now that it is finished, I can get onto something that will hopefully be more interesting, and that is our trip to Ecuador, and the Galapagos Islands. Until then, stay healthy, happy and alive. Cheers! Ron
