Ron wanted to visit the New York Stock Exchange on Wall Street!
A memorial specifically for World War II soldiers lost at sea who’s bodies were never recovered.
Ron wanted to see the Wall Street Bull, it was swamped with people taking photos at both ends, it was impossible to get a photo without people in it, maybe if you go there at 6 am or something??
People were putting their heads in the bulls ass, grabbing the balls, it was pretty funny!
The New York Stock Exchange, there was some silly promotion going on for some race car event so the whole front of the the building was covered in a poster.
With heightened security, it was obvious of the measures they have taken, the streets around the exchange no longer allow vehicles.
Right next to the exchange was a beautiful building that had a Lincoln exhibition.
This was pretty cool!
On the way to the Staten Island ferry, there was an American Indian museum which was housed in the old customs building. Many of the public museums in New York are free and this was an incredible building.
The Staten Island Ferry is free and offers amazing views of Manhattan.
I wanted to see “Mama Mia!” so we stopped and bought some excellent tickets for that night.
Our first good view of the Statue of Liberty
Day 5! Happy hour once again!
My brother asked me to bring him some Cachaca, the liquor to make a Caipirinha. He remembered me talking about how good the national drink of Brazil is. I’ve tried to make them at home but just couldn’t get them to taste right. That night our bartender turned out to be Brazilian so I asked her how to properly make them. She taught me the secret to the perfect Caipirinha and I couldn’t wait to get to Michigan to make my brother one!
