CityTour/Met/Show

We took one of the open air city tour buses, this allows you to jump off at multiple places for site seeing and pick up another bus later!

As the bus is driving there is a tour guide pointing out historical or famous buildings, what you soon realize is that almost every building is famous or historical for something.

I had to snap Buenos Aires time as we drove by.

The architecture is amazing.

They kept yelling at you to stay seated while the bus in motion and here you can see why, the top of the bus barely misses street lights, traffic lights and other signs.

This is St John’s cathedral which is bigger then Notre Dame in Paris, we were on the bus so decided to come back another day to visit it.

Beautiful brownstone homes that have been converted into multiple living spaces.

This painting radiated light like it had a spot light on it.

The driver kept pointing out famous places, but there are so many of them you forget what he said it was famous for!

The famous Apollo theatre in Harlem, growing up in Detroit we heard about the huge influence this theatre had in the world of black and jazz music.  It’s actually a very small theatre.

Rodan’s are freakin amazing, I love how he can sculpt such emotions, and his use of oversized hands.

Another Pan / Satyr

The guide was explaining how the city had just started to close off Times Square to traffic and put these lawn chairs out for people to sit and relax.  I don’t think he was too happy with the disruption in traffic by closing off the square to all but one lane of traffic.

The signs are so freakin amazing.

This sign actually wraps around this semi-circular building, the blue part of the building is rounded, I couldn’t tell if the sign was real actual lights, or a projection from across the street.

Happy hour day 4!

Our first Broadway show was “Chicago”, a musical I love.  Although the singing and acting were incredible, I was kind of disappointed in the set, it was very plain and spartan with just the orchestra up on stage in a tiered set.  I was expecting to really be wowed by a real Broadway show, I guess I was just expecting something more “showey”.

Times Square at night is even more impressive then during the day.
