We had never visited the glaciers in the south, so this was a big treat for us too! October 2005
We arrive in the town of Calafayte, and what do we need to do but go shopping!
We take mom and Aunt Hazel for a traditional “Parrilla” lunch, the Argentine tradition of grilling meats on hardwood grills, they bring whatever you like and we grunted and pointed at some really fantastic cuts of pork for more!
The next day we start our first tour of the glaciers!
Dinner that evening in another hotel that was recommended by some people we met in our hotel
The next day we go to Perito Moreno, their most famous glacier!
We bought some brandy and would play cards in the evening before dinner.
Not a bad meal for being at the bottom of the world!
Having a coffee while doing more shopping! Notice the big grizzly bear dog that was following us around.
Our last day was a “free” day so we visited a local museum, we took “Semour” with us and took some more pictures for the class in Michigan. Semour has been having a great time so far in Argentina!
