Ron and I met on June 16, 1982. I moved in a month later and it's been like that ever since, so we always considered this date our anniversary since there wasn't much time before meeting and living together. Last night we celebrated with a nice dinner at home and thanking my lucky stars for being the luckiest guy in the world!
It was a beautiful day but we're still in quarantine so we had to have dinner at home!
I'm the luckiest guy in the world! I did give myself a haircut for our anniversary and went a little crazy with the clippers. Oh well, it'll grow out! Ron's asked me to cut his hair even after he saw how I butchered mine! His came out better than mine!
Ron and I still play cards every night before dinner, it's our "quality" time together. I bought some paté and brie to have with cards since this was a special occasion!
Ron made the Tahitian Papaya Salad while I poached the salmon.
This is a recipe I found a 100 years ago and it's still a favorite, papaya, shrimp, and avocado on red leaf lettuce with a red wine vinegar, oil and lemon pepper vinaigrette.
We tried the Riesling. It was the first one we tried from the premium wine collection that I ordered recently and it was delicious and perfect with the meal.

Life is an incredible journey, and sharing it with someone you love is the greatest gift there is.
