Then onto the silk factory, they had a really great demonstration area where they showed how the silk is removed from the silk worm cocoon, turned into thread, and then dyed. |

They then use punch cards on the weaving machines to make the intricate patterns. I started my career programming on punch cards in 1980 and thought that was really cool it’s still in use. |

Of course there was a large shopping area and Ron and I ended up getting two shirts each. We continued into Shanghai and went to a really nice Westin hotel right in a great area of the city. We wore our new shirts to dinner where they had a great sushi buffet. |
